N2  - Although the existence of India's uranium enrichment program has been known for a while, there is little technical information on the program available in the public domain. Here, we try to estimate its capacity based on the assumption that it has succeeded in producing sufficient enriched uranium for the core of the prototype reactor for the nuclear submarine that India has been developing. While there are large uncertainties in the data and, consequently, our estimates, this exercise is nonetheless useful to get a sense of scale and can be used to make rough estimates of how much weapons grade uranium could be produced at this facility should India use it for that purpose.
